What the center is for
The sacral is described as the engine of sustained work. A defined sacral gives a renewable supply of energy that can be spent on things that interest you and then restored. The system says it expresses itself through responses: small sounds and bodily reactions to what is put in front of it.
This is also why it is the dividing line among the types. A chart with a defined sacral belongs to the Generator family. A chart without one is a Manifestor, a Projector or a Reflector.
Gates and connections
| Runs to | Channels |
|---|---|
| The G center | 2-14, 5-15, 10-34, 29-46 |
| The throat | 20-34 |
| The spleen | 27-50, 34-57 |
| The solar plexus | 6-59 |
| The root | 3-60, 9-52, 42-53 |
Gate 34 belongs to three channels, which is unusual, and it links the sacral to the G center, the throat and the spleen.
When the sacral is defined
A defined sacral is described as a steady, reliable source of energy. The person has a rhythm: they work, they run low, they recover and they work again. The system suggests that satisfaction depends on spending the energy on things that get a real response.
- A Saturday in the garden. A person with a defined sacral can spend a whole Saturday on a garden and sleep well that night.
- An hour with no appetite. Asked to give an hour to a task they have no appetite for, the same person feels flat almost at once.
The system sees both as the same engine reporting honestly. A defined sacral is not a license to take on everything. The system says the engine works well when pointed at the right targets and wears out in the wrong ones.
RememberWhere no higher authority applies, the practice is to follow the sacral response rather than a to-do list.
When the sacral is open
An open sacral has no steady personal supply, and the system describes a pattern: it picks up the energy of the defined sacrals nearby and can run on it for a while. The result is that you may work longer than you intended when you are among busy people, then find yourself depleted when you leave.
The not-self theme is not knowing when enough is enough. A person with an open sacral may keep going because those around them do, and only notice the cost later.
Try thisDecide in advance how long you will stay, and rest before you feel you need to.
Everyday example: at an office where everyone stays late, the open-sacral worker stays too, without a reason, and feels drained the next morning. The system says the energy was borrowed.
What this looks like in your chart
Look for the square in the lower middle. It is filled when any of the eleven channels above is complete, and pale when none is. The easiest check is to count whether a line connects it to the G center, spleen, solar plexus, root or throat.
